CJE Project

The Canadian Jewish Experience (CJE) exhibition will be manned by volunteers like you.

We hope that you will take a minute to review the details and consider becoming a volunteer.

The CJE exhibition is located in the lobby of 30 Metcalfe Street.  The exhibit consists of 9 panels that explain different aspects of Jewish Canadian contributions by outstanding individuals to Canada’s development over the past 150 years.  The text is presented in both official languages, and is augmented by a pamphlet that provides further information about the project and its supporters.

The exhibit is an opportunity for people to learn more about how Jewish Canadians have been part of Canada’s growth and development since its earliest days.  It is a chance for visitors to the National Capital to learn more about their fellow Canadians and how they have participated in the successes we all share in on the occasion of this important milestone – our 150th Anniversary as a nation. Volunteers should enjoy meeting people of all ages who encounter the exhibit, and be enthusiastic about the history and topics presented.

The exhibit is open 7 days a week between the hours of 9 AM to 6 PM from its opening date April 4, 2017 until its closing December 31, 2017.

Volunteers are asked to sign up for a 3-hour shift.  Shifts are from either 10 AM -1 PM, and from 1 PM – 4 PM.  You may sign up for as many shifts as you wish.  Volunteers are provided with a desk and chair, and have access to a room downstairs for personal belongings, as well as a private washroom.  CJE will provide your parking fee.  We will also provide a a handout information with highlights about the CJE and the exhibition, as well as a copy of the panel texts beforehand to help in your preparations.
